I am officially entered to ride the Scooter Cannonball in 2025, my ride number is #998, the same rider number that I have for the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge.
The Scooter Cannonball is a multi-day rally for street-legal scooters that tests riders’ navigational skills and endurance. The event takes place every two years, with the starting and ending locations alternating between the east and west coasts of the United States.
I wanted to ride the SCB (Scooter Cannonball) since 2022 when I first found out about it. I was hoping to ride the event in 2023 but it was not in my cards at that time. Once I decided to ride the 2025 event, I had to pick a scooter. For 2025 the rules for bike eligibility are:
Participation is limited to two or three-wheeled vehicles with an engine displacement not exceeding 300.00 cubic centimeters.
Engine displacements less than 150.00 cubic centimeters must satisfy at least two of the five following criteria; all others must
satisfy at least three of the five criteria:
1) unit construction of engine, transmission, and rear swing arm
2) wheels no larger than 13 inches
3) originally equipped with a step-through style frame
4) originally equipped with running boards or a leg shield
5) a single-cylinder engine design
Now I have to find me scooter!
