Some time back in April or May, my riding buddy and I were discussing upcoming rides and it was brought up that our local H.O.G. Chapter had nothing going on for the 4th of July. Some thoughts start flowing and we ended deciding that Highway 1 would be a nice ride and to get away from the Desert heat.
Our route took us from Las Vegas, NV to Salinas, CA the first night and following HWY1 down to Paso Robles for the second night and then back home to Vegas.
In total the ride was just over 1,100 miles.
Saw some elevation… or lack of.
This is the “Touring” configuration for logging some miles.
Getting some warm temperature as we crossed the desert.

Riding into Salinas the marine layer made the sky look more gloomy than it was
Time for a beer and a cigar once we were parked for the evening.
Day two had us going through a section of woods.
and then onto the Coast and finally the ocean.

I even got to see some California wildlife.

and on the ride home on Sunday… I found a likeness of Carley at the Chevron during one of the gas stops.
